Lightivity Lighting Design provide a complete lighting design service. From concept to completion, we balance creative and innovative thinking with a solid understanding of technical lighting principles and analysis.
As independent lighting designers, we have no affiliation with any lighting suppliers or manufacturers, allowing us to select the most appropriate, cost effective and sustainable lighting design solutions for your project.
Collaboration, creativity and sustainability are central to our design methods and group philosophy.
Whether it’s a Commercial, Residential, Hospitality or Exterior lighting project, we approach our projects in the same creative and collaborative working manner, developing the lighting design in an iterative style, examining and testing for the correct lighting solution, product, effect or detail. Throughout the design process we continually look to ensure that our schemes are easily installed, maintained and affordable.
We communicate closely with our clients and all other members of the project design team to ensure the right visual and functional aesthetic is achieved, whilst working in a more technical capacity with M&E teams, ensuring that the scheme’s electrical and operational requirements are cohesively designed.
The lighting design process we adopt is typically based on the recommended architectural RIBA design stages:
Initial dialogue and client briefing.
Production of visual lighting design concepts and associated documentation to convey initial design ideas.
Development of initial lighting design concepts.
Production of initial lighting layout drawings and specification documentation.
Design development and team co-ordination.
Production of detailed lighting layout drawings and specification documentation to allow the project to be tendered.
Attendance at selected site meetings and mock-ups.
Site snagging upon installation.
Commissioning of light fixtures and lighting control systems.
To assist our clients from the project outset, we always provide a written list clearly outlining our proposed scope of works and project deliverables.
